PAIR welcomes Brandon Ashby and Hadeel Naeem
Two new researchers have joined PAIR: Brandon Ashby and Hadeel Naeem.
Brandon Ashby joins PAIR from the University of York (Canada). His work on the grammar of consciousness and phenomenal structures fits perfectly to the DFG/AHRC project SENSOR, which focuses on philosophical issues of sensory engineering. SENSOR is a joint project with the Centre for the Study of Perceptual Experience at the University of Glasgow, led on the German side by Sascha Benjamin Fink.
Hadeel Naeem was previously a research fellow at the Käte-Hamburger-Kolleg “Cultures of Research” at RWTH Aachen before joining PAIR. Their work on epistemic issues of AI, especially LLMs, will contribute greatly to PAIR’s research focus. They will also contribute to the ERANET project COMPAIN on the complexity of pain experiences. COMPAIN is a joint project with the National Yang-Ming Chia-Tung University Taipei and the University of Münster, led on the Erlangen side by Sascha Benjamin Fink.
We welcome both Brandon and Hadeel and look forward to how their research will shape PAIR.
